I love how some people put this VERY odd stat on their web pages. It is
the "I shared the stage with" category. What the **** does that mean? I
was on the same stage as Ronald Reagan once. What does that mean? Think
about all the stage hands etc. who could say they "shared the stage"
with Mick Jagger etc. I think this is a really interesting
accomplishment for people to brag about. Who here has the most
impressive "I shared the stage with" person? :-) I can see it now, some
junkie musician who used to sell smack to the rock acts is now listing
them on his web page as "I shared the stage with XXXXXX." What is left
out is, "I was on stage delivering his smack to him." :-)

I think it means a visit to B B King's Wig Museum is long overdue.
See Matt Monroe's potato peeler collection.
Try on the wigs that have "shared the stage" with thier owners: Pual
Mcratney, David Bowie, Ginger Baker, Little Walter, Tiny Tim, Larry
Adler (he speaks to me from beyond the grave in Klingon every night,
you know),Ludwig van Beethoven.
Snuggle up to the HOT WATER BOTTLE exhibit.
Marvel at the collection of drummers' pieces of carpet.
B B KING'S WIG MUSEUM is in FINCHLEY, TEXAS.

People do it when they lack other accomplishments. There's a local
guitarist who jumped up on stage at the end of a jam session just to
say he had "shared the stage with [whomever]"...And the guy is
so "good" that he was voted Outstanding New Artist in a local paper TWO
YEARS IN A ROW! *snicker*

True, but just about everyone exaggerates accomplishments on their
resume', don't they? They do this because most people who read this stuff
will assume that at the VERY least, these people opened for the artists with
whom they claim to have shared the stage. Sometimes the assumption is that
these people actually PLAYED with the artists in these claims. In either
case, it inflates the perceived success level of the one making the claim.
I think the criteria for the "I shared the stage" claim should be that
you were BOOKED for a gig either as a sideman for an artist, or at the very
least, as an opening band for said artist.
