anyone have experience with this little piece of electronic home
entertainment?
7 dynamic pads, 45 drumsets, 174 pre-recorded percussion sounds - can be
played with either sticks or hands/fingers. also has a hat + kick pedals.
sells for 235 euros at www.thomann.de
i'd be damn interested if this is the perfect way to spend an evening on the
couch tapping along...

Don't know about a dd55, but I've got an Alesis DM5 and it's about
the most fun you can have with a practice pad! I usually just put a
home-made 2 zone pad (plus rim) in my lap set up with kick on the rim.
I can set up a hat and kick pedal too, but I usually don't bother.
The whole thing feeds the stereo and is just a hoot to play along
or just rip out paradiddles! I don't know what the pads are
like on the unit you are talking about, but if they are reasonably
decent for practice it might work for you.
