Are the newsgroup forums worth keeping? Right now they are offline and not updating. What do you think should be done with the?

I say if one is not smart enough to post intellegently, one should not have access to newsgroups. For those of us who are smart enough to should be able to figure out how to access them appropriately without too much trouble.

Give them the boot, they are a waste of time and space.

Informative posts in them are too few and far between.

Occasionally, I'll find something interesting (in the midst of deleting spam and mindless stupidity).

We should get rid of it. Anyone who misses it can deal with the newsgroups directly.

I agree. You need to wade through too much rubbish to get to something worthwhile. Sod 'em.

Yep, give them the axe. They dominate the Active Topics at times.

I agree that you should get rid of the newsgroups. Not found very much when I have accessed. Lot of rubbish to wade through.

although I actually dont mind the newsgroups being here anymore, I just wish they wouldnt show up in the ACTIVE TOPICS

could we keep them here, without them getting in the road(active topics) so they are there if you need them, sometimes they do have usefull information

if not then go the axe on the newsgroups:hit:

The trash from our board would still litter them.

But wait a minute... Isn't there one good link in all the news groups on all the net? There must be something to look forward to...

Never liked them. I say get rid of them ASAP. Like someone before me said, there are other means of reading them for those interested in it. For others of us who don't want to read them, it's a huge pile of trash that we need to sift through to get what we want from this site.

I think there may be some good stuff in there but wading through hundreds of posts makes me just skip the newsgroups and concentrate on the Midi Buddy posts. Mind you I skip the rintones, samsung, nokia etc. forums as well!!

Honestly John I don't think we will miss them but you could always suspend them for a few days, see how it affects the board and make a final decision.

well i think it's a waist if time ...

now that everyone knows that a new thread is 20 $ and a reply is 10 $ , how many replies and new threads you think will be on in 1 day , not to count the ones that have been posted and not answered ...

Most of the asked can be answered in the other threads , and most questions in newsgroup have been already aksed more then twice ...

les not forget how many newbs join the forum ... ;)

I agree with some of the other users. I do occasionally find useful material. I think they're worth keeping.
