I had the same problem with Playstation sound (PSF) files. It appears as if the file is not finalised. I did not have the time to experiment, but I hypothesise that the program was not finished when I thought it was and quit out of it prematurely. Perhaps if you get a friend to start downloading it at the same time you do, it would start working.

I have not re-attempted Bit Torrent mainly because I use other people's computers to access the internet. I can get back to you in about a year. :(

I've never had any problems with BitTorrent (except I used Burst!). All the movies were playable. Maybe you don't have the right codecs installed or wanted to watch the movie when it's only half-done.
for the right codes I use Kazaa Lite Codec Pack:

I've never had any problems with BT either, been using it for about 8 months now too.
