how do you read tabs?

I am new to guitar n i dunno how to read tabs. Can someone help me out?

wel reading guitar tabs are fairly easy. lemme show u.

example tab:

B|----------0----------------0-------------
G|------4------2---2------4----2---2-----
D|----2----------4------2--------4--------
A|--4-----4-----------0--------------------
E|-------------------------------------------

okay, now ebgdae are obviously the strings. The letters on the strings tell u what fret to play that string on.

Al--4
that would mean play a on the 4th fret

if you find something like

--------4h5-6p5------
that means put finger in 4th fret and hammer on5th or put finger in 6th and pull off to 5th :-)

----4^5---- or ---4b5--- mostly means "bend up"

a "vvvvvvvvvv" over the tab means smthg like whammy bar or vibrato
