XP and McAfee

I can't delete mcAfee... ever since I updated to Xp Pro my virus scan hasn't worked. I did everything the McAfee website said to do and I still can't get it off...


Has anyone else had any problems with Mcafee and Xp?

What did you update from? MS-DOS based (98/ME)?
If so, you should reinstall the software.
MS-DOS and NT Windows Operate differently. It's best to uninstall it and try installing it again.

I've had a similar issue with Norton Anti-virus. It remains inactive in the bottom right-hand corner.:hit: Its doing my head in!

Even though it's a bit more of a pain, it's best to do a clean install when you're upgrading your OS. Especially when switching from 98/ME to NT/2K/XP.
Otherwise you can get stuck with leftover programs that don't want to operate correctly under the new NT-based environment.
