ALright bare wirh me..new at midi..just started out and I'm pleased..I finally was able to get my cakewalk mome studio XL to communicate with my roland xp-30. I need some advice..looking at buying additional software for sounds..I particularly favor dance/techno/rock and rap. So many out there..does anyone have a suggestion on what would be the best for my general interest ?Guy at the stor..was not helpfull,gave me the impression..he just wanted to sell..with no insight on what my needs were .

can't go past the the RM1-X from Roland. Very good patern sequencer....midiable...just wish I could afford one this week that is a hardware solution.
try http://www.hammersound.net/ to get some sounds and use somthing like livesynth with sonar
