I'm looking for a new laptop and was thinking of getting one from Dell - anyone got any good or bad advice about whether Dell are any good?
Cheers!

I've been using a Dell laptop for over a year now....i haven't encountered any problems. i dunno about the (DELL) models you guys have over there in the states but my cd drive doesn't have a volume control button externally. i have to use the keyboard to adjust the volume....ummm....like most laptops i guess the battery runs out pretty fast. apart from that i think it's a good choice.

Used various models of laptops. I currently use a Toshiba and have had no major problems. Every other laptop suffered from one problem or another (except one IBM). Toshiba laptops are generally the most sturdy around. I have had friends who have had some problems with Dell. They were not very computer literate and that may have provided their difficulty, not their computer. Good Luck.

Really depends on what your using it for.
Business? Probably go with a Dell.
Games? Alienware, VoodooPC

I have an Acer Travelmate...it's a little on the heavy side, but it's good & reliable. I recommend Acer! :)
