how do you read tabs?

I am new to guitars, and i dont know how to read tabs can someone help me out??

it's very easy to do. much better than traditional sheet music in my opinion. the lines represent the guitar strings and are usually marked on the left. the numbers represent the fret.

e--3--1--------------------
B---------0----------------
G---------------------------
D---------------------------
A---------------------------
E---------------------------

in the diagram, you would play third fret on the high e string, then the first fret, then an open B string. the notes are g, f, b. go to www.tabcrawler.com and there's heaps of tabs and info there.
