Sorry about that man. I know it sucks. Obviously not eveyone uses these files commercially. But we have to assume that people do. Personal use is different. (legally it's not, but I don't care)
Since you're a regular member I'll send you what I have. Most of the files I took off the board, I have. Which ones do you want?

:: split and moved thread ::
Rince - very valid, but this is more suited to the MOD Discussions Forum.
The other half of this thread was dstruct complaining about MB being a chat and arcade board now - I know this probably bother more people that just you, so lets talk more about all this and try to figure out a course of action.
John - do you have any MIDIs I don't have? If you send them to me too, I'll make sure they end up on the HUB.
**********Speaking of the HUB, who here is not a member and wants to be? There is some great stuff there (depending when you're on vs. other hub users...) Sign up and check it out. It could be a small consolation for those who miss the free files.

<sigh>.... looks like I need to copy to floppy and bring the collection home from school so I can join the hub..... Every good MIDI page I've seen has gone this direction under legal pressure... I really was wondering how MIDIbuddy was avoiding all of it. John HAS to protect himself... Copyright police love to fine 'per incident'..... 3000 songs at $?? per song?? I know I'm not ready to risk it - and it would be good for the boy to finish college before ending up a pauper over a 'freedom of' issue. I know its frustrating, but let's be a community on this one and support every point of view.
Which came first the chicken or the egg..... d'ya think its the artists who're putting up the fuss?... or are the artists lawyers making it impossible for us? In the 1800's it was quite the rage to take a popular tune's melody and re-word it to suit the moment. Presidential campaign themes, College songs, Even the US national Anthem* are all recycled tunes.
*"The Star Spangled Banner" was once "An Anacreon in Heaven" - a drinking song

Since you asked ;)
The words were written in 1814 (during the War of 1812.... figure that?) while the British were bombing Fort McHenry. Key and another man went onboard a British ship to negotiate for the release of some prisoners. Once onboard the battle intensified and they thought it wiser to stay where they were aboard the ship, they were shown to quarters that had a view of Fort McHenry. During the night the fog and smoke of battle kept the men from getting a clear view of the what was going on - and the British weren't passing along any news. As dawn broke and the smoke/fog cleared Key caught a glimpse of the tattered flag, knew that the fort had held, and began writing on a scrap of paper.
The song was adopted as the US National Anthem in 1933.
 HEY.... YOU IN THE BACK ROW!!!!!! :nono: We're talking 'bout important stuff here!!!!!
