Hey guys...
Sorry I took so long to get this to the polls...
We've got 6 official entries - If I missed an entry from the contest page PLEASE let me know!

Honorable Mention: nothing - but recognition of being someone who almost something ;)

I have listened to all the entries, and I must say I am impressed with every one of them - you guys have done some great work!

I finally finished my midi for entry into the contest! I know, I'm probably late, but I figured that since there are so few entries, why not try anyways? I have spent the past 2 weeks on this song, and there are close to no bad sounding parts in it! The only problem with it is that at the end, it's just a little too fast for the type of sound I wanted, but if it works, it works, right?

I think that it's pretty relaxing music, and it has quite a few different note patterns in it.

Since I just taught a roomful of eighth graders how important it is to make sure you are understood - here're MY thoughts on the matter.....

A "Theme" has to be short and catchy, uncomplicated, easy to remember, easy to get stuck in your head
A MIDI for a web page should be one that is easily and seamlessly looped so that it doesn't leave the listener/browser in silence....

Which goes to say that I tend to write to the occasion rather than just letting my mind free and writing for the joy of it... I envy those of you who're good at that.

I'm gonna keep tweaking this (I hope)... I haven't decided whether the silence is effective or in need of some hip-hoppy filler... (opinions welcome :)) And gosh darned if that "quantize" feature didn't hitch up my rhythms here and there.... no time to re-record now....

well I like artistdudes midi. I also like the story line from VOG but the hisses kinda destroys the midi in my opinion. ZRs is depressing. jeanie your's is very repetative, I know songs have a rhythm but i would like some variety. Besty I don't know what to say about yours, it's kinda like discoy but I agree that it would make a great theme song but it's not my pick. Dstruck2k's is a little uh...... (I would say I feel like I'm floating on a cloud.)

So the battle for me is between VOG and artist

I would choose artisan's little song but it's not a midi nor is it entered in the contest. Yes artisan I'm hooked.
I think it's my favorite song at this point hehe. BTW PM the name of your group so I can spread the word when the cd is released which would be a long while

yeah if VOG had the hisses and claps at the begining then it tapers off then I would love it.

Couldn't have heard mine before Art. It's a one and only that I programmed myself. It is though, a very different version of an old song that an Australian artist covered a long time back! Maybe I should start another contest to guess who and what song it was. Ha Ha!!

You CAN talk about what you want - but I understand the need to talk about it in the right thread (Art's point)..... Imagine a first time user reading 'us' acting like brats in a thread entitled announcements? A potential good member could be alienated by immaturity. How about posting a message like "Moving this conversation to chit chat" and then starting a thread there which would serve your purpose and earn you MB$ to boot? If you confine sunh things to threads where a reader is warned by its title (e.g. "Sarah and Artistdude duke it out") Then it'll be in good fun and not disrupt the WORK that the board is trying to do.

VOG, I like it, but the crowd is just way too loud. I think you should drop them down a few volume levels.

ZR, that song was almost gentle enough to put me to sleep! Very relaxing, but not what I'd want for this site's theme.

Artist, cool. A lot of the same stuff over and over, but cool!

Besty... Not a lot of actual music in it for the first minute. Kinda slow at getting to the point.

Jeanie, cool beats and stuff, but the "Weeeeee-awwww....." kinda draws it out a little long. I'd cut that out and speed it up a bit.

Yup, I realized pretty early on that it's not such a good theme (sleeping patrons aren't exactly what we're after), but makes a nice song. Glad it relaxed ya, though! ;)
