Any good (and free) programs on adding lyrics to midi files (making them kar)? I have Easykar but it's not really easy to use, and I experience a minor bug.
I hear the latest NWC can do it but it's not free, and the downloadable trial still lacks that feature.

I think that finale can do that... I know it can save as .kar file
It is probably a bit too powerful for what you want as it also puts the song into shett music form and you can edit it from there...

I'm using KaraKan. It's easy to use. But it's not very up-to-date. It's from the age of Windows3.x.

Well, Finale's not really free is it? I've tried it but I'd like something more simpler. I'll check out KaraKan. I'm assuming it's adandonware by now...

You can try the free WinKaraoke Creator v1.2b:

It's kind of buggy, but it works. Not too hard to use, but you've got to guess which note is linked to which lyric word (unlike Cak
ewalk Sonar which can make notes sound to help you identify the right synchronization)
Also, if you receive the "incorrect font" error message after the installation, just copy "Musical.ttf" to the Windows/Fonts directory.

I use a VERY easy program which is also a player, called MidiX - you can add lyrics with the click of a key ( oh and good timing ;) )
You can get it FREE here http://agrgic.tripod.com/midix/

I use Cakewalk to do all My karaoke Files. And one good thing about it, it stays a mid file... Lyrics can be seen in cakewalk, VanBasco, winamp, and other software to...
