when people talk about mp3 karaoke songs, do these files come with the words to view or are they just instrumentals, when i say come with the words, I mean the words to view and sing along to.

I don't think that was exactly what was being asked StoneSourDCLXVI.
Mp3s are typically imstrumental versions (some with backup vocals). IF you get into mp3+g, you can turn a CD+G track into a compressed mp3 file with graphical lyrics (like on the CG+G).
More info here: http://www.mp3gtoolz.kicks-ass.net/
As far as MIDI files go, they can have lyrics.
Either .mid or .kar files can have a lyrics track included.
You need a player like VanBasco's that can display the graphical lyrics:

the only possible way to do that is by downloading mpeg files of karaoke, or you can go to www.singtotheworld.com, for streaming flash karaoke, i love it, but its a bloodyn paysite
