Hey there,
Just a note to find out how many people out there use the midi's for work. I work with kids that are considered no-ones. I teach them to sing some songs and then I get the midi and let them sing to it. It's great for confidence boosting. Otherwise i listen to them for pleasure. How about you;)

I use my MIDIs for my sprint phone. I have a connection to my computer so that i can download them. It's not exactly a 5.1 soundcard, but it sounds a lot better than those annoying beeps.

I am a musician who is unable to play live anymore. But they give endless hours of practice time and comfort.Somtimes I am able to play for friends parties and weddings when my health let's me.Other than a band or live music there is no substitute. They require talent and dedication and a love music.the same as the people who wrote the originals and the one's who do their own original midi music. It comes from the heart and soul.Lespaul:cool:

Unusual choice , but ingenius. Any use for a midi file is a good use.Keep them going. They tried to take them from us once, let's not let it happen again.Lespaul:cool:

Midi's are great to sequence and use to write your wave forms to.
I sequence the drum and keyboards lay down my bass and guitar as wave to Cakewalk. Then I overdub all my vocals. Then you have a hybrid but still basically midi as the heart.Lespaul

I like to tweak the settings of each midi, but the sounds also come from the quality of your sound card programs.Yea they are easier to write and load for web pages. Lespaul

As a singer and singing teacher, I find these resources very helpful in class. You can have virtually any song you want, and then play it back in any key. Very Practical for my line of work.

I use them to practice my singing (!) and also to find out the chords for when I play a song with a band.

I have a single act and use my keyboard for all my background music except for guitar and vocals. Not exactly a midi file, but classed that way.

I'm using mine for the new polyphonic phones, regular ringtones don't have enough to them.

I use midi's for two things:

1) I like to play around on the piano (though I can't really play), so I use Finale to extract piano solos from the midis

2) I also like to find full band arrangment midis, which I then extract the trumpet part in Finale and play along with the midi (trumpet I can play :) )

i guess i don't have a use for them other than just to listen to them, i like the way u can tell the effort that people have put into making them to share them, it makes me appreciate the music more. I guess i just listen to them to relax and enjoy.

i'd prefer listening to a good midi to a mp3 anyday.

I use my midis in a notation thingy and a bunch of people in my school band get to together every once in a while and we play for fun. It's pretty cool

I'm a working muso, recording artist. I use the midifiles for live performances, and play keyboards or guitar. I also write original material in midi format to get the production I want, then play in the live instruments. I used a drum machine for my last album, but am playing drums myself for the current one

I only use them for my ringtones. Not all sound nice on the phone though. Do wish that Nokia would come out with a 16 tones phone.
