I use Sound studio gold, it's fairly accurate. Well worth it too - I'm a flautist, but I can use SSG to transpose for anything.:thumbsup: takes a bit of getting used to tho! :rolleyes:

MIDI files are a bit hard to understand as piano music since they don't HAVE to be piano playable.... Try 2 things then you can either print or chuck it depending on what you see....
#1. Use a program like cakewalk to combine essential tracks
#2. reset the "quantize" feature to 16th notes
#3. go through and delete non-essential notes.
You might still have a mangled mess - depends on the song! You're better off using the MIDI to transcribe something you can understand!!
bobthebuilder is right, at school we transpose the whole file into some convenient key - then print off (or, at times transcribe) the melody line and hand it to, say, a sax player with a floppy of the MIDI for a bit of play-along fun.
