There are a lot of people still using Cakewalk 6. If you need to mix audio with your midi, I would suggest upgrading to their Sonar series. I have used Sonar 2 XL in the past when I needed to mix samples with midi, but it isn't that great for live performances. CW 6 is pretty solid for gigs, sans audio. I have since opted for my Korg Triton when doing gigs, but use Sonar to do the prototyping.

Although i'm not good at creating MIDIs...i'm good at editing them...and for this...cakewalk is the best choice

I use cakewalk for all my sequencing.
It's a pain in the ass to work out where all the features are, but once you've worked them out it's a breeze.
I don't mix a lot of audio with my MIDI so I can't really give an opinion of the software in this area.

It depends on what you want to do.
I've used cakewalk since version 4. Using versions 7 and 9 lately.
If you have a specific question, then I'd be happy to help. It depends on how you approach your midi creations, and what you hope to achieve. Fire away when ready.

Heh, i use cubase sx..............but i agree that it is totally over kill if u just want to sequence midi files. For that, cakewalk should be quite sufficient.
I record and mix audio as well so thats why i use SX, however Sonar is also a great choice.
