Roland Mother Keyboard with modules linked. Like the old Yamaha KX88 but very big and heavy. Roland pianos always seemed better than anybody elses!

Are you looking for 88 keys (a MIDI controller) or a keyboard synth with internal sounds?
I use a controller, and for my hammer hands, the Yamaha's permit a heavier hit before it bottoms out at VOL127 vs. all the others out there..
Studiologic 990 is a nice starter keyboard. It has your 88 keys and PB and MOD wheels, and full midi out implementation..
I personally use the Yamaha because I spent too many years pounding away in dinner theatres, so my technique has gone to hell. (grin) For almost everybody else, the Studiologic or Kurz controllers work well.
I would caution you AWAY from the new m-Audio Keystation 88. It's a good "first try" but there are a myriad of design flaws that keep it from being ready for prime time, even at the cheep price for 88 keys..

I use a Roland XP30 and Alesis QS6.
Although the XP30 is probably the more 'pro' synth and is well supported with expansion boards, I find the QS6 has plenty of great sounds.
The QS6 has been updated a while ago, but I don't know what the newer version is like.

I use a Kurzweil MidiBoard. It's just a controller keyboard but it works very well.

I just upgraded by trusty Roland XP-50 to a Roland Fantom X7 two months ago. I've been using roland keyboard since '97. Great keyboards with great sounds!
