cakewalk export to wav ??

hi
i am using cakewalk pro 8.
could someone plz tell me how to export my mid composition into wav format ??
when i goto Tools/Export Audio it gives a message "no audio is selected, so your command has not been carried out."

plz help.:confused2

Tools|Export Audio does what it says - it exports an audio file - nothing to do with midi!

What you want to do is called 'rendering' - which is where a midi stream is converted to audio. To do this, you poke the midi stream into your sound engine (soundcard, softsynth, hardware module, or whatever) and then record the audio output from that device.
