Which Distortion/Overdrive pedal for bass guitar.

Can anyone advise on a good all-round distortion/overdrive effects pedal for bass, which they have used and know to be good?

The sound I'm after is Jean Jacques Burnel (for the benefit of USA members he is bass player with the Stranglers) and also John Entwistle type trebly raspy light distortion.

Any ideas?

check out the bass player from tool, he has some cool distrotion that still sounds meaty

you can take the sound of radiohead in exit music(first half song is bassless and other half goes with distorted bass) or any distorted sounds with many different pedals as log as you or someone shows you proper use of it

Bass overdrive pedal from boss sounds like the kinda thing to go for, trebly and not too much distortion
