I heard that if you play Stairway to Heaven backwards you can hear satanic messages. The first thing I did was looked it up on the internet. I listened to some clips of some songs that are supposed to have messages backwards and I couldnt hear anything until I looked at what it is supposed to say. Exept for the Pink Floyd I could clearly hear "secret message" before looking at the words. Then I tried it with my Zeppelin record and I could hear some of the words. I think it is all in your mind. You see what it is supposed to say, and you interpret it that way. Kinda like pointing our shapes in clouds. Does anyone else know about this.

I heard about this years ago.

People with too much time on their hands. I guess it also depends on the RPM speed when playing it backwards as well.

try and understand it without reading the lyrics first, I couldnt. The led zeppelin one creeps me out a bit and the queen one is funny

When Judas Preist were in court under the ludicrous charge of inciting kids to commit suicide (yeah, cos it's such a great way to increase your fan base) by putting backward messages supposedly saying 'do it' (obviously referring to suicide rather than the Nike ad) on one of their albums they went to the record store and picked a bunch of random records up.

They played them all backwards and next day in court played a few including one that even seemed to say 'I love peppermints'. Case dismissed.

I don't know what all the fuss is about, maybe it's coincidence, maybe they're intentional? Who cares? After all some records, anything by Stock, Aitken & Waterman for example, sound like pure evil played when forwards ;) Personally I bought the music to hear it played normally.

Hopefully CDs will eventually put an end to all this silliness ;)

Is there any proof that having those messages backwards in a song actually even causes people to do these things? People have too much time on their hands.

I'd guess if there is it's only amongst the very weak willed xj. I don't see why listening to something backwards would be more suggestive than listening to it forwards.
