It has been some time that Yamaha has created the Electric Drums, that respond to how you "beat" them. Indeed have the drums a very similar response to the real ones....but what do you think about it? Do you prefer normal drums or the electric ones? And if you do, why^?

hmmm... That's a tough one... On a feeling point of view, I'd have to say Real drums are the best... sound wise, it's a little bit of both, the new electric drums do sound very real but cymbals still don't react like real ones... the only place electric drums really rock is that you don't need 100 000$ of bleeping mics to record them and have them sound cool...

Being a drummer of 40 years I would say electronics are great for recording. I like the Roland ones the best although the cymbals do not have a good bounce too them. I would still stick with live drums for Small clubs and stuff like that.
