I personally have never cried over a song. If you list a sad song that actually makes me cry, I'll admit it, then I'll make sure you get MB cash. So dig in to your sad song collection and throw out your never-fail tear jerkers.

ahhh I think I must be an emotional person - lotsa songs in different situations make me cry,

when I was in college one of my friends and my teacher were killed while bushwalking and they played Eric Clapton - Tears in Heaven at their funeral - that song always makes me sad

and Crowded House - All I ask
something about that song gives me a sniffle *sniff*

I don't need any cash either ;)

Ya know. You'd think a song with SO MUCH behind it, like Tears in Heaven, would make me cry. I think it probably would if it reminded me of someone close to me who died. But I really haven't had that happen to me. So I can't really cry at that song, even though it is sad to think how he wrote that about his son. Damn. Do I have no soul?!

I really don't like the Scientist at all. It's one of Coldplay's worst songs, in my opinion. Sad? Really?

its not that you have "no soul" then.... just "no experience"... bummer for you to not have that range of emotion that makes life so rich. Its never the song that makes me teary, but more my life surrounding that song.

Although...

Some songs convey raw emotion so well, that they can make you feel "choked up" out of any context if performed well. The G minor Sinfonia by J.S. Bach performed by the Swingle Singers, for example, could set me off without much warning if I were feeling in the slightest lugubrious... let alone some of the St. Matthew Passion arias...

I think one of the sadest songs I've heard that actually made me cry was a newer country song. It's called "Letter from Home" which is about a soldier at war receiving letters from family. He receives one from his mother, wife/girfriend, and finally, his dad. Now, my relationship with my dad isn't all that great, and hearing this song made me get all teary eyed. Check it out if you like country or whatever.

A song that makes me cry is "Mamas Song" by Kirk Franklin. and Dnagerously in Love by Beyonce. But if u want to cry you should listen to these, because they are real tear jerkers. and the movie Selena.. OH MY GOD! I cry EVERY time. and the lion king...

 Yeah, the Lion King can get the waterworks flowing...
Dunno' 'bout Beyoncé though... some more good ones up there.
And the song about the soldier (or...)... there's nothing quite like when someone is killed and you have to go and inform the family... that's difficult.

Tears in Heaven, almost made me cry when I listened to it after reading the story behind it. Very sad.

dude, i got this one. that slow, older song where where the guy sings something like "what do you think, i would give at this moment". he also says "cause you don't love me no more" towards the end. It's got a saxaphone at the end and it rips my heart out just thinking about my ex. if anyone knows the name of this song, please let me know.

if this song doesn't do it for you, try that jewel song "foolish games" very sad to me.

Nawww... that song is it Billy & the Beaters? anyway... I can't keep from cracking up when there's some drunken guy in the audience (it sounds like the song was recorded in a small bar) begins going "Woooooo... WhooooooOOO! Owwww... yeah... WOOOOO!... Hell yeah!!!":laugh::laugh:
I mean, the fella's singing a love sing for cryin' out loud... it's not Seger or Skynard... :hit: not that it doesn't do it for you or anything. Maybe if it weren't that live version you always used to hear... is there any other version though? Tears in Heaven might do it... I heard a live version of that tonight, in fact.

There's only 5 songs I can think of that have come the close to making me cry:

"Somedays" by Paul McCartney
"God Isn't Dead?" by Extreme
"Mad World" by Gary Jules
"Gethsemane" from Jesus Christ Superstar
"Hello" by Evanescence

Try some 'We-cant-make-out-what-you're-playing' metal with vulture-raping vocals.

If your ears and brain don't cry, then your toe will after you kick the c-r-a-p out of the stereo
