Has anyone ever been PAYED for creating a MIDI file on their computer? I mean, since it's all synthisized, is it even worth paying for it?

I'm just wondering, my friend get paid by people to do this. I think he's scamming them.

Um, yes! (Paid, even?)

Perhaps you don't realize the work that goes into a quality sequence?

Consider: If it's good enough to be a backing track, is it good enough to pay for?

This is true, but I think you are underestimating how easy it CAN be. I've seen some pretty good programs that are available via my school! It's insanely easy.

It still seems to me that quality of a file is proportional to the time invested in its creation. I'd love to hear an "easy" file that turned out even halfway decent. :)

I'll grant it's not rocket science, but I've yet to create a really good file in a very short time, or without ample work.

I'm not trying to be cocky by ANY means, it just that I find some programs to be easy. AND the MIDI didn't turn our bad at all.

Now, obviously, they are not the best, but I'm not talking about some guy setting up a professional MIDI business. The guy I know is in grade 11, and people PAY him.

So, in theory, I'm not saying that quality MIDI is a breeze, it's just that I was asking if someone got payed for this, BECAUSE he doesn't put much work into it.

Maybe I'll rephrase my question. Has anyone ever been payed for a below adequate MIDI file?

I've only been payed once; this guy needed to hear his accompaniment for his alto sax solo. So I made it for him.

Oh, and the answer to both your questions for me is no and no. :) I guess that makes me cheap! :p
