midi in/out problem

just changed from a yamaha295 to a casio ctk731.
the yamaha used the usb port and i had no problems with sound
the casio uses the midi in and out ports but my programme which is powertracks audio says there is no midi in and out
checked out my sound card and it seems to be running ok no problems have tryed reinstalling my card which is a avance ac97 audio card but still no luck
.
any ideas will be helpful.

Hi gooseander,

AC97 does not support MIDI. You'll have to buy a USB MIDI interface.

That, or you can buy a Sound Blaster Live! from one of several online stores. These cards are often cheaper than just the USB<>MIDI interfaces themselves, and offer a respectable package of additional functions, like EAX and SoundFont support.
